I allways believed in the saying "no replacement for displacement" when it comes to cars and wheeling rigs but I am starting to think that there is an end to it when it comes to ATV’s. I am starting to consider which atv’s I am going to outfit my family with. I get a kick out of my cousins AC 650 H1 turning 27" mud lites but I wonder if there is a significant improvement over a 500? I am leaning toward 550 EFI wheelers either a Yammi Griz or a AC. It seems that there is a point where additional HP only serves to make it easier to break parts and doesn’t offer much in the way of getting through tougher obstacles. Not to mention the fuel economy side of the coin. Just curious what people think?

Never been much of a side by side guy. But I’ll be looking into one of these imagine what the mud holes will look like now . :D

yeah i’m excited but hey I’ve waited along time for one of these…
picked it up yesterday (excellant service from the dealership, she met me at the shop on a Sunday at 2:30 so I could look at one and hopefully take it home..) ended up also getting 5 helmets for all my children… and am going to the gas station now to fill it up and take it out….lol :p

I am handicapped and cannot use my right hand very good so I cannot turn a regular 4-wheeler so I had to have a steering wheel. :cool:

Now that the Grizzly 700 has been on the market for a few years. I would like to know if anyone has had any problems with theirs. I have 250 miles on mine so far and its been a great machine. Any thoughts?

Just asking on peoples preferences on brand of drive belt, i have a kodiak with a clutch kit that goes through belts pretty good and looking for a high quality belt. The two previous yamaha brand belts outlasted the dayco that i just blew up today. Anyone use the new goodyear or a carlisle belt?

Was wonderin if anyone has gone to Dickey within the past few weeks, and if so could give a trail report.

I have an 91 Polaris 6 wheeler with 4 wheel drive. I was backing. The drive train seems to be jumping a sprocket up inside the transmission. I haven’t taken it apart yet. Does anyone know what kind of a problem I might have in there?

If you are using the Jim Creek area you may want to check out the BLM website. Much of what is now being used has been selected for conveyance to native corporations. Basicly anything that is not already conveyed to the state has been selected to go to the native corp. This includes everything from Swan Lake to past Wolf Point including the Friday Creek drainage. In the Alaska BLM page go to the Spatial Data Managment System at http://sdms.ak.blm.gov/isdms/imf.jsp?site=sdms and use the zoom tool to go to the area. If you check the Generalized Land Status box it will show what the native corporations already own and what they have selected to recieve. It helps some to check the "Quads" box so you can see the river and contour lines.
I don’t use the area much, but lots of other people do. If they don’t have access to Jim Creek they may be pushed into my area instead. I would rather that people speak up now and keep the land open for public use. They do now own some of the land there, but this will increase their holdings enormously. I beleive they will close off their areas or at least charge a tresspass fee if they get the land.:(

OK so I have a 2007 Yamaha 660 Grizzly. I bought two 27x 12 x 12 tires ( Mudzilla’s ) I put those on the rear and still have the stock 25×8x12 on the front. ( I think thats what the stock front are ). So the folks down at Yamaha told me that if I dont put close to the same on the front that I will tear up my Diffs when in 4 wheel drive!

SO is this true???? The tires mudzilla makes to go on front are 26 x 10x 12. So do I need to run to the store and get these tires or what???

I’m considering a new Avenger, part of the justification is snowplowing. I’d like to here from someone that has done or does do snowplowing with an Argo. My question is, How well do they plow with tires? I don’t need tracks in the area I hunt and would hate to have to buy tracks just to plow. Thanks for your input.;)
